West Sussex High Sheriff Pigeon Hole Storage Boxes

A fantastic pair of pigeon holed storage boxes formerly belonging to two High Sheriffs of west Sussex. The role of High Sheriff is a ceremonial officer appointed annually by the Sovereign to each county in England and Wales, with roots in the Saxon "shire reeve" role. The modern role is non-political and voluntary, focused on supporting the justice system (police, judiciary, prisons) and engaging with community and voluntary organizations. Responsibilities include representing the Crown, supporting law enforcement, and undertaking ceremonial duties like welcoming High Court Judges and announcing royal visits. These boxes or in fantastic vintage condition with some patina and flaking to the gloss paint, most likely used to store paperwork or ceremonial regalia. The boxes are mid century in age with dove tail joints and fully working original brass latches, the white gloss paint is a later addition. The price shown is for the pair, I will consider selling separately please message me to discuss this.

We use Royal Mail and Parcel Force for all domestic and international shipping. Where possible on multiple item orders I will look to condense these down to reduce cost and refund any over charges back. For large items such as furniture or fragile items these will be delivered by myself to reduce the possibility of damage at a price appropriate to distance, please contact me for a quote. Alternatively all items are welcome to be collected for free from the WS15 area.
