19th Century Italian Lithographic Print Depicting Saint Rosalia

Stunning art work of saint Rosalia Circa 1880's, Saint Rosalia was an important subject in Italian Renaissance and Baroque painting, particularly in sacre conversazioni 'group pictures of saints flanking the Virgin Mary'. She is especially important internationally as a saint invoked in times of plague. The flowers and the garland of roses in the images are gifts from the Virgin and Child she holds a skull as an object related to her martyrdom and ascetic life.

This is extremely fragile and as a result as suffered some damage (please see pictures) it is however are really lovely piece and does provide an elegant yet gothic vibe.

Signs of woodwork in the frame but has been treated again as a precaution.
